Carol Hutter

Carol Hutter began her music studies on Piano at the age of 4. 

She studied in NJ and then at school started Saxophone and then Violin. The family moved to Binghamton NY where she continued her violin studies and then began viola with Tony Appel of the Lenox String Quartet. Every summer Carol attended Red Fox Music Camp in the Berkshires and after HS attended New England Conservatory of Music.   Her studies included SUNY Binghamton, and also a Masters Degree in Music from UMass Amherst where she was in the first Lost Grad String quartet. 

More studies and performances in the Fellowship Program at Tanglewood where she was principal viola under Leonard Bernstein. Carol has performed professionally in the Tri Cities Opera, Binghamton Symphony, BC Pops, Sacramento Symphony, Peter Britt Music Festival in Oregon and also the Berkshire Choral Festival. Also, Berkshire Bach, Vermont Symphony, NERO, And for 43 years with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. She performs with her String Quartet, The Bel Canto Chamber Players.  She has taught in the PIkneer Valley at the Community Music Schools of Springfield and Northampton, PAD of UMass, Deerfield Academy, Falcetti Music in Springfield, Red Barn Music School in Amherst, And her own private studio. She has played concerts and taught all over the Northeast for many years and many of her students are playing professionally and just for fun.
