Glenn Pettit
Born and raised near NYC and currently living in Easthampton MA., Glenn has been a part of numerous music and literary scenes for over thirty years.
A respected fingerstyle guitarist and teacher, Glenn spent ten years teaching one on one (and with a student ensemble) at Falcetti Music, Springfield, MA., directing the music elective portion of the Great Books Summer program at Amherst College, as well as teaching social studies and music appreciation in Springfield and in Easthampton, MA. In addition, Glenn has also produced Blues History workshops for schools and libraries.
A self described “Egyptian/Reggae-Delta/Punk fingerpicker and songwriter,” his credits include appearances at such diverse venues as New York’s Sidewalk Café and CBGB, The Middle East Café and Nameless Coffeehouse in Cambridge, MA., Luthiers Co-op in Easthampton, MA., WPKN FM89.5 in Bridgeport, CT and the WLIJ AM1580 Saturday Jamboree in Bell Buckle, TN, along with countless clubs, roadhouses, cellars, galleries and schools across North America.
Having jammed with, or shared stages with such disparate luminaries as the late Blues guitarist (and Jorma Kaukonen mentor) Ian Buchanan, singer-songwriters Dar Williams, Kevin So, David Massengill, contemporary Blues personalities Little Toby Walker and Louisiana Red…Glenn’s hope for the future is to “put all the wrong notes in all the right places.”
